e-GEOS (ASI,Telespazio) and GAF (e-GEOS) participate in ForestSAT 2014 conference held from the 4th to the 7th of November 2014 in Riva del Garda (TN), Italy.
e-GEOS and GAF, at the booth n° 3, show their applications and services for Forestry management and their portfolio for Geo-spatial applications and Geo-information solutions.
e-GEOS, in particular, shows the COSMO-SkyMed Backgorund Mission advantages: a long term interferometric acquisition plan started since 2008/2011 aiming at the satellite time usage maximization and the continuous data archive population. More than 1800 area of interest selected, currently more than 2200 interferometric data stacks are available for land-use and land-cover change detection based on amplitude and interferometric coherence techniques, historical reference in case of disaster events, land and infrastructure stability analysis through advanced differential interferometric methodologies (PSP). Thanks to the dense data stacks, the image quality is enhanced through speckle noise multitemporal filtering
Within the conference programme will be presented the paper “COSMO-SkyMed X-Band SAR Constellation: Expanding VHR remote sensing capabilities in forestry monitoring”, which examines COSMO-SkyMed main products for forestry application such as:
- Large area coverage in short time at high resolution
- Key sites very high frequency monitoring
- High frequency interferometric analysis
- Background mission: interferometric long-term monitoring over several forests around the world
- De-forestation, re-forestation and afforestation tracking
- Forest degradation detection and monitoring
- Fire damage detection
- Forestal land-use/land-cover change detection
- Carbon modelling and forest species inventory
Moreover, e-GEOS will show its application and services portfolio based on COSMO-SkyMed Constellation and optical data offering a unique portfolio of application. Starting from satellite, aerial and in situ data, e-GEOS will show is able to provide, also in near-real-time, environmental monitoring, rush mapping in support to natural disaster management, specialized products for defence and intelligence, maritime surveillance, interferometric products for landslide and ground subsidence analysis, thematic mapping for agriculture.
The scientific programme of ForestSAT2014, with more than 360 abstracts organized in 37 oral sessions and a non-stop poster session, is completed by three plenary sessions with invited keynote speakers and two courses.
