Livio Rossi, senior business and development of e-GEOS, has been elected as new president of the Italian Association for Remote Sensing (AIT) of which he is a founder.
For the first time since 1986, when the Association was founded, a representative of the industry arrives at the top. AIT, which has always been active at a national level from a scientific and technological point of view, has also acquired European significance, managing in first person the "European Journal of Remote Sensing", an important scientific reference point at the continental level.
Livio Rossi, elected with 80% of the votes, will remain in office until 2021. eGEOS, in addition to offering geo information services in Italy and worldwide, also represents the Italian Space Agency. This new assignment will therefore allow to broaden the horizons of AIT towards the National and European technology Agencies, the Copernicus initiatives, the Central Public Administrations and the business world.
